Description

Develop and implement recruitment strategies that will promote CV Tech and raise an awareness about all the programs we have to offer across the district.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Visit high schools and middle schools, within Canadian Valley’s district, to speak to groups and individual students, and meet with school counselors and administrators to promote outreach activities at least once a week and assist other Career Readiness Specialists as needed.
  2. Provide information regarding admissions requirements and program benefits to prospective students and parents.
  3. Deliver enthusiastic, educational presentations to individuals, groups and classrooms in CV Tech partner high schools and middle schools.
  4. Responsible for scheduling presentation appointments and developing a professional rapport with high school students, faculty and staff as well as instituting a high school visitation plan that will offer consistent customer service.
  5. Organize CV Tech recruitment events, which include but are not limited to, Open House, Sophomore Showcases, High School Visits, Eighth Grade Days, etc.
  6. Attend college/career fairs and other high school sponsored events.
  7. Create, monitor and distribute resource materials for student recruitment; analyze trends in student recruitment and develop strategies to effectively reach intended audiences.
  8. Work with recruitment staff to coordinate recruitment activities in conjunction with other programs and departments at CV Tech as well as outside agencies and organizations.
  9. Learn about the programs and scholarship opportunities offered at Canadian Valley Technology Center.
  10. Coordinate a recruitment plan for high school seniors to educate and inform on the opportunities available at Canadian Valley Technology Center.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of programs offered at Canadian Valley Technology Center
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
  • Proficient in computer skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, plus analytical, organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of marketing and sales techniques
  • Knowledge of human relations and personnel practices
  • Ability to work well with individuals with diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports
  • Ability to setup and use technology in presentations

Education and/or Experience

 

Bachelors’ required. Previous teaching, counseling or administration experience preferred. Oklahoma teacher, administrator or counseling certification preferred. Must demonstrate strong presentation and communications skills; analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work with a wide breadth of program areas; strong interpersonal and team skills; self-motivated; ability to effectively use a personal computer and common business applications; experience with event planning. Occasional evening and weekend work is required

Work Environment

 

Travel between all partner schools and all CV Tech locations is required.
