SUMMARY
The Business and Industry Services Director works collectively to achieve CV Tech’s mission, vision, and shared goals of providing educational programs and services aligned with Business and Industry customer needs to enhance the overall organizational performance. This position reports to the Assistant Superintendent. The director manages training and services to meet the business development and workforce needs of business/industry and stakeholders in the district and provides direct leadership, oversight, and guidance to the Workforce Development/Adult Career and Community Development Coordinators and indirect to all members of the Business and Industry Services department.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree in Education, five years of career tech teaching, and/or supervisory experience required. Preference may be given for secondary principal certification, career tech administrator credentials, experience working as a coordinator and/or industry experience.
Travel across the district is required; must possess a valid Class D Oklahoma driver's license with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience to operate district vehicles and maintain an acceptable driving record.

- Direct district resources to address the educational needs of business and industry clients. This includes staffing, budgeting, professional development, facilities management, strategic planning, identification of needs, marketing, and evaluation of programs and services.
- Maintains professional competence through participation in leadership development programs, self-directed studies, seminars, and workshops.
- Maintain oversight of all training agreements negotiated with local businesses and industries and approved by the Oklahoma Department of Career & Technology Education (ODCTE).
- Communicate the vision, mission, strategies, and goals of the Board of Education and Superintendent to the Workforce Development/Client Based Coordinators.
- Serve as CV Tech representative/Liaison of CVTech with the Greater OKC Compact,
- Review district policies, procedures, and Business and Industry Services success measures to ensure compliance and recommend needed updates.
- Identify, develop, and analyze needs assessments to evaluate the needs/benefits of services.
- Develop and maintain an advisory committee for the BIS department meeting at least twice a year.
- Maintain a record-keeping system for all Business and Industry Services education programs. Includes instructor files, course files, client files, student files and transcripts, company information records, and state reports.
- Maintain and submit required reports to the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education. Including all quarterly enrollment reports, inventory records, and program reports.
- Attend meetings as required by the Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent, and Board of Education.
- Serve as Business and Industry Services liaison for community economic development activities and other community functions.
Events:
- Develop procedures for providing quality services and products in seminar centers and meeting rooms.
- Develop and maintain a budget for the seminar centers.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise Business and Industry Services staff. Includes: recruitment, selection, hiring, and orientation; assignment of duties; performance appraisal; and professional development. Assist in the overall supervision of campus operations. This includes security, facilities, employees, students, and visitors. Supervise and coordinate events/seminar center personnel, which includes recruitment, selection, hiring, performance appraisal, and professional development.
